Pet Food Pantry

PLEASE NOTE:  THE PET FOOD PANTRY IS OPEN THE FIRST MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH FROM 1PM UNTIL 4PM.

The Pet Allies Pet Food Pantry has reopened.  Going forward, the Pet food Pantry will be open the first Monday of every month.  The pantry will continue to operate from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.  Please follow our Facebook page for other updates.  Please review the following information prior to accessing the food pantry to insure you are qualified to receive assistance.

Pet Allies’ Pet Food Pantry offers temporary/emergency pet food assistance; this service is NOT intended to supply food permanently or on a regular basis.  This is a temporary measure while an  individual gets through a financially tough time. This does not preclude them from receiving assistance for several weeks in a row but such assistance will be evaluated.

Financial Qualifications
To qualify for this program, those seeking pet food need to be approved in person, complete a short application, and provide proof of low income (see qualifiers below) PRIOR to receiving pet food. Pet Allies reserves the right to deny food to anyone or to make exceptions based on individual need at any time.

Must provide proof of any of the following:

Arizona Quest Card
AHCCCS
WIC
Unemployment verification
Disabled veteran card (VA card)
HUD Section 8 Housing Assistance
SSI/SSD
SNAP or EBT card
Medicare
Senior 65+
NACOG-Head Start Program or Food Plus

Applicant’s animals must be spayed or neutered (proof of spay or neuter required) or applicant must agree to schedule the surgery with Pet Allies.  Pet Allies will prioritize these individuals for spay/neuter assistance programs.

Spay/Neuter
Applicant’s animals must be spayed or neutered (please provide proof of spay or neuter) or applicant must agree to schedule the surgery with Pet Allies prior to receiving their next pet food pantry allocation.  Pet Allies will prioritize these individuals for spay/neuter. If a client of the Pet Food Pantry misses an appointment without valid reason and without rescheduling a spay/neuter appointment, they will no longer be eligible for the program.

Frequency and Number of Requests
Requests may be limited as resources are available. Requests are limited to three adult animals per household.

Cat Colonies
Our main focus is helping families in need be able to keep their pets by providing free pet food. We cannot assist cat colonies at this time.

Individual/Family Pets
This program is for individual pet owners and limited to three pets per household. We are unable to provide assistance to independent rescuers. If you have rescued more animals than you are able to feed, we can provide you with information and recommend that you work with a 501(c)(3) rescue.

No Breeders
We do not provide pet food assistance to breeders (of any kind). If you have a litter that you are planning on selling, you are strictly prohibited from pet food assistance. We will help individuals with an accidental litter and prioritize them for intake into the shelter when they are at least 8 weeks old. Individuals who receive this assistance must agree to spay the mother and will receive assistance to do so. Food can be provided to litters until they are able to enter the shelter. Individuals receiving assistance from the Pet Food Pantry cannot benefit financially from the litters.

Times and Place
The Pet Food Pantry is open the first Monday of every month from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at 1321 N. 16th St, Show Low, Arizona.  Stay in your car and follow the sign which will direct you to the back of the shelter.
